The 2012 IFCO/ Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba successfully crossed over into Mexico today with nearly 100 tons of humanitarian aid bound for Cuba!
The Caravan entered Mexico via the Pharr and Hidalgo bridges with enthusiastic protest as they called for the end to the US blockade and travel ban of Cuba, and called for the release of the Cuban Five, now held in US prisons. Although six computers were seized by U.S. authorities. We will continue struggling to make sure they arrive in Cuba soon.
The rest of the aid included seven vehicles along with medicine, medical equipment, incubators and an x ray machine. The crossing was covered by three national Mexican television networks.
The Caravan, composed of participants from the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe is now on its way to Tampico and on to Cuba!
