Caravan to Cuba: Cleveland, OH
Pastors for Peace Caravan, sponsored by the Interfaith Community Organization (IFCO) will be sending humanitarian aid to Cuba again. A small truck will pass through Cleveland on Thursday, July 9th stopping in many cities on the way to McAllen Texas, where the IFCO staff will provide orientation workshops for those traveling to Cuba and repack the aid materials. This is the 20th trip for the Caravan.
The Cleveland Committee to End the Blockade against Cuba is organizing a collection of humanitarian materials such as medication and sports equipment. One of the members already donated significant amount of medical supplies. Considering the fact that economic situation has been improving in Cuba we are scaling down our collection of humanitarian aid materials but we can still use monetary contributions to finance transportation of the aid materials including travel expenses of the drivers and other volunteers.
Please come, join our Welcome Potluck, and meet Caravanistas who will be going to Cuba with the truck load of humanitarian aid.
Please bring your food to share with our Caravan guests and hear the updated reports on the Blockade against Cuba. Manolo De Logales Santos will speak to update all of us on the current challenges Cuba is facing. I am looking forward to learning more about current situation under Raúl Castro’s leadership.
Let us renew our friendship with old friends and meet new friends over a homemade dinner. This event is free and open to public. However, any amount of donation will be accepted with gratitude. For more detail and reservations, please call 216-521-7057 or E-mail yikuta@aol.com.
