Event description:

Our annual fundraising dinner will be held at Queen Street United Church, corner of Queen & Clergy (the church is still available for events such as this). Doors will open at 5:45pm, with dinner being served at 6pm. Tickets are $20 and will be available by June 10th through Caravan committee members and CCFA exec.members.

Dinner will be followed by a short program which will include brief comments on the Caravan by Caravan speaker Reverend Tom Smith, President of the IFCO board. The Minister-Counsellor at the Cuban Embassy, Maria de la Luz B'Hamel, will outline some of the aspects of the US blockade of Cuba. Questions from the audience will be welcome.

The Caravan is the admirable work of a multi-faith foundation for community organizing based in New York (IFCO) and founded by the Reverend Lucius Walker. An Ecumenical Distribution Committee made up of Cuban religious leaders receives and distributes the aid, based on need,  to a variety of Cuban organizations and institutions serving the Cuban people. If you think the Pastors for Peace project might be of interest to your church, please pass on this information to its  leaders and congregation.

We had a very rewarding event last year, so much so that Kingston is developing a reputation as being one of the most successful stops on the Caravan routes. Let's make it even bigger and better this year!

Volunteers needed. We need help with the dinner. If you would like to volunteer in the salad or dessert departments or the set-up/clean-up departments, please contact me and I will provide further details.
