What nation is the most sustainable in the World?

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has declared Cuba as the only country on the planet that is approaching sustainable development.

The United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) Human Development Index (HDI) and the ecological footprint is calculated using life expectancy, literacy and education, and per capita GDP.

UNDP considers Cuba the only country in the world to reach a high human development level and a low ecological fooprint.

Cuba's per capita energy consumption in one-eighth that in the US, while Cubans' access to health services, education levels and life expectancy rival those of their North American neighbors.
